Jinluohe Village is located in the southeast of Shuitianhe Town, Baojing County, Xiangxi Prefecture, in the hinterland of the Lyudong Mountain area. It is inhabited by the Miao ethnic group.
The village is rich in characteristic resources, with steep mountains, deep canyons and numerous caves. With beautiful natural scenery, the forest coverage rate reaches 85%. There are a large number of rare animal and plant species in the surrounding forest of the village, and about 100 macaques inhabit the mountains.
The characteristic dwellings of Miao people in the village are well protected. Ethnic customs are diverse and colorful. In 2016, Jinluohe Village was included in the fourth batch of traditional Chinese villages.
According to a legend, Chi You was defeated and the Miao people migrated south. The ancestors of one of the tributes led their people here and saw a beam of bright light flashing in the sky. A huge goldstone fell from the sky and landed in a clear stream in Lyudong Mountain, instantly making the river shimmering with golden light. Ancestors believed that this place was a blessed land, so they decided to live here.
